3 Days Tour Marrakech to Merzouga

The adventure begins at 8:00 AM when your driver picks you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. First, you cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m), the highest in North Africa. Along the way, several panoramic stops allow you to enjoy breathtaking views and traditional Berber villages. Afterwards, you arrive at the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for movies such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. After exploring the kasbah, lunch is served in a traditional restaurant, followed by a short break. Then, the route continues through Ouarzazate, the Skoura Palm Grove, and the Rose Valley. Finally, you reach the Dades Gorges, where you spend the first night in a comfortable riad or hotel.

After breakfast, the morning starts with a visit to the rock formations of the Dades Gorges. Next, the journey leads you to the spectacular Todra Gorges, famous for their towering cliffs and vibrant atmosphere. In addition, you continue to Erfoud, a town well known for its fossils and desert culture. From there, the road takes you directly to the dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. Later in the afternoon, a camel trek of about 90 minutes allows you to cross the dunes and witness a stunning Sahara sunset. Upon arrival at the camp, you are welcomed with Moroccan tea before enjoying dinner under the stars. Moreover, live Berber music around the fire creates an authentic atmosphere. The second night is spent in traditional desert tents (haimas).

The last day begins early. At sunrise, you climb the dunes to admire a breathtaking view of the Sahara. After breakfast, you return from the camp and begin the drive back to Marrakech. During the journey, scenic stops are made along the way to stretch, take pictures, and enjoy the changing landscapes.
